8 Reasons Why You Should Hire That Restaurant Worker
As we continue to exist in unprecedented times, many people are making career changes to adjust to the economic climate. That means that a lot of restaurant workers are looking for new jobs — and this is why you should hire them, regardless of their educational background and what you may consider unrelated work experience.
If you hire a veteran restaurant worker, you are likely hiring someone with the ability to think outside the box, and that’s necessary for moving forward in any industry.
I’m writing this with the authority of an eleven year restaurant worker. I have worked as a host, server, bartender, lead bartender, bar manager, assistant manager, and general manager. I have moved kegs, stacked cases, I have worked the door, I have washed dishes. I have fired, hired and trained people. The only job I never performed in a restaurant is cooking. (And trust me, that’s a good thing…)
So with that being said, if you’re looking for any of these traits in your next hire, consider a former restaurant employee.

Restaurant workers are accustomed to working with people from various backgrounds and experiences of all ages, many of whom speak a different language.
